Description

States are encouraged to adopt an integrated approach to child welfare efforts that aligns with their vision and builds on data-driven insights from previous reviews and planning initiatives. Round 4 of the Child and Family Services Reviews (CFSRs) provides an opportunity to strengthen these efforts by incorporating lessons learned from past assessments, such as Round 3 of the CFSRs, Program Improvement Plans, and other Federal and State monitoring processes. This tool supports State teams in reflecting on past successes and challenges, identifying opportunities for better coordination, and setting actionable next steps for improvement. By engaging a variety of partners, including families, youth, and legal communities, States can create a more effective and responsive child welfare system.
